Myself I have a 4GX modem thrown in my backpack with a 10GB sim in it. I will never burn my 10GB of quota, but speed is everything for me. Also this new device supports a greater range of frequencies than most of the other modems available. Download a typical 3.5MB song in a fraction of a second Download a 20MB Power Point presentation in as little as one second Download a 300MB one hour TV episode in as little as sixteen seconds Download a 3GB HD Movie in as little as 3 minutes Sounds similar to what they have done with their pre-paid data plans.

It was having to carefully select which files to send back, and which to simply next day post instead (talking detailed geographical log files which might churn through ~10GB per day if we sent them all digitally.

I notice the launch/availability date is March, so Telstra still has some time to line their ducks up.

Even on one of those plans it's really a moot point.

Fixed for you :) The only reason Optus can offer a 200GB wireless broadband service, at significantly reduced speeds, is because it has a huge chunk (80-98MHz) of 2300 spectrum.

This allows it to run 4 x 20MHz carriers per antenna panel on that one frequency band, but currently Optus only does 2 x 20MHz carriers.
